For a few months now I have been tossing the idea of
taking the Let’s Tend The Garden message to the various environmental shows and
festivals. With Em’s help, I propose the
concept to our Pastor about two weeks ago. He loved the idea – in fact, he was hoping that someone
would do that. (big God, little us…)
So I talked to my team and was going to have a booth
ready by Earth Day in April. Then things too off: LTTG got invited to two environmental
summit meets this winter. One is December and the other in January. (times up; here we come, ready or not!)
The December conference is in two weeks… but we are
just going to this one to get ideas. I pray we can have a booth up and running
by January. It will be tough, but it’s
doable. =)
Please join us
in pray as we start up this new ministry and go to these different shows. Pray
that we would listen to God’s guidance and talk to the people He wants us too.
Pray that lives will be changed for the Kingdom of God.

For those who are wondering, the booth would be centered
around “why” we do the things we do (i.e.
because of a love for God and His people.) At the same time, we would
provide information and resources about various environmentally friendly
activities. This would allow us to be up front about our faith as it deals with
the environment as well as provide a resource to the greater community and gain
us entrance into these different festivals.
The results of such a booth would be three fold:
1) It would allow
us to connect with other like minded agencies in the community as we interact
at these different events.
2) It would give
us an opportunity to share our values and faith with a people group who might
never set food inside a church.
3) Ultimately, I
pray that we would have some divine encounters with the people at these events
resulting in changed lives for the Kingdom
of God.
